FAQ

Poseidon Training is responsible for the quality assurance of instructor and instructor trainer training and for maintaining ISO and RESA compliant standards for training with Poseidon rebreathers.
The diving organisations were already informed of the changes at the end of September 2023, and the standards must be adapted to the prescribed ISO and RESA-compliant Poseidon Training Standards if this has not already been done.

It is important to note that Poseidon Training is not a diving organisation, but is responsible for quality assurance and compliance with the ISO and RESA compliant standards of Poseidon Rebreather Training.

For active, existing instructors and ITs, this means that after a successful update and the granting of the training authorisation, they can continue to train in their diving organisation, as long as it belongs to the organisations recognised by Poseidon Training.

Once at the beginning there is an on-site update or online update depending on the latest trained students. We warmly welcome active members from recognized organizations, especially those with a few certified students in the last 12 months, to take part in our convenient online update.

The two-year update via online meeting at Poseidon Training are mandatory for all active instructors and ITs of recognised diving organisations.

The following applies to the training of new diving instructors:

Prior to commencing training of new instructor candidates, the instructor trainer must register them with Poseidon Training and obtain approval to confirm that the candidate requirements have been met.

Once approval has been granted, IT will require a Poseidon Training Examiner at the IE for the new instructor to take the exam and issue the Poseidon Se7en eCCR training licence, depending on the level they are aiming for.

All necessary information, procedures and materials on the new Poseidon Training processes and procedures will be communicated and shared with the instructor and IT during the update.

New Instructor Trainers may only be examined and endorsed by Poseidon Training Examiners. Upon successful completion of the training and receipt of their training authorisation, they may teach in a recognised organisation.

Association can apply for an authorization via the link: www.poseidon.training/organisations/application

The IT must be member in one of the organizations from the list!

To ensure that ISO standards are met and that the quality of Poseidon Rebreather training remains at the highest level, instructors and instructor trainers are required to renew their training rating every two years in an online update via online meeting. This is mandatory every two years in order to maintain the training authorisation. It ensures continuous development and updating of existing knowledge.
